A Vidor police car was hit in the rear on Interstate 10 Tuesday night as the officer was working at a previous collision. Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Stephanie Davis said the officer was not in the car and was not hurt.
The collision was about 10:45 p.m. on Interstate 10 westbound lanes near the Main Street exit in Vidor. A Chevrolet passenger car ran into the back of the stopped patrol car. Sergeant Davis said the police car had its emergency flashing lights on.
The driver of the Chevrolet was 44-year-old Kerry Scott Jr. of Orange. He was taken by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with minor injuries.
