The Pinehurst Police Department in a joint operation shared with Orange County Precinct 2 Constable David Cagle has seized quantities of drugs, a firearm, and drug paraphernalia over the last week. The joint operation between Pinehurst and Constable Cagle is an effort to combat the distribution of illegal drugs including methamphetamine in the area.
Pinehurst Police Chief Fred Hanauer reported that following a service call Saturday afternoon in the 2200 block of MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst, Police Officer Kevin Norton confiscated over 5 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine along with distribution materials. No arrests were made, but the investigation is ongoing.
On Monday afternoon Pinehurst Officer Jocelyn Trussell was joined by other Pinehurst Police personnel in conducting an investigation in the 3500 block of Pheasant Street. During the course of that investigation a firearm and drug paraphernalia were seized. A 35-year old white male Joseph Damon Gorney who lists a Vidor address as his residence was arrested on unrelated warrants from Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Joy Dubose Simonton. That investigation is still in progress and additional charges are pending.
