The industrial warehouse at 4011 Tulane Road is expanding. The City of Orange issued a building permit in August for an addition valued at $153,000. The contractor is Mike Barnett Construction. In addition, the city had permits for five new houses worth a total of $556,000. The largest, valued at $245,000 is being built in the 6700 block of Guy Lane by Camellia Homes. One house is going up on Florida Street is valued at $41,000. James Turner Construction is building three more hurricane recovery houses valued at $90,000 each. The houses are on Schley, Pacific and Morrell streets.
Other commercial permits for improvements were issued to Randy Brown Sr. for a $75,000 metal building in the 1700 block of Allie Payne Road. Family Eye Care, 2401 16th Street, is getting a $40,000 remodeling as Phase II of the company’s improvements. The Waffle House under construction on 27th Street received a permit for Frey’s Landscaping to install a $3,200 irrigation system. Also, a business in the 2900 block o f 16th Street replaced two air conditioning and heating units for a cost of $9,000.
Residential work includes two add-on projects for a total of $42,000 with one on Frostwood Street valued at $40,000. One house during the month was re-roofed at a price of $4,900. Two permits were issued for miscellaneous electrical worth and included $9,250 worth of work for the installation of a new generator.
Two new fences were installed at houses for a total of $4,020 and seven new home heating-air conditioning systems were installed at a total of $35,568. A residential pool valued at $61,500 is being installed by Platinum Pools on Golden Oak Drive.
