Orange police are looking for a young woman in connection with a daytime burglary at a house in the 4300 block of Tulane Road. The resident was napping in a recliner and woke to find the burglar inside the den. The woman fled the house with several pieces of jewelry from a bedroom.
The resident told police she had been working outside and came inside about 10:50 a.m. Tuesday. She locked the door and laid down in the recliner. The lights were out in the house and the blinds were closed.
The resident said the smell of cigarette smoke woke her. She saw a woman pulling on the entertainment stand in the room. The resident called for her husband and the burglar ran away.
The burglar is described as a young white woman age 17 to 25 years old. She is about 5-feet-3-inches tall and 115 pounds. She was wearing tight black shorts, a white T-shirt and white tennis shoes. The woman has dark hair that was pulled back into a long pony tail.
