Two incumbents have filed for re-election in the Bridge City ISD board election. Michael C. Johnson filed for Place 6 and Mark Anderson filed for Place 7. No challengers have filed.
Elections for city councils and school boards will be May 6 and filing started on Wednesday.
Incumbent Ruth Hancock is the only person to file for the two open seats on the West Orange-Cove school board. The other seat up for election this year was held by Sarah Jefferson-Simon, who passed away two weeks ago.
No one has filed to run in the Little Cypress-Mauriceville board race. The open seats this year are Position 1 held by Randy McIlwain, Position 2 held by David Jones and Position 3 held by Marlene Courmier.
The Orangefield and Deweyville school districts have board elections in November.
The Orange City Council has three candidates for the single-member District 3 seat. Incumbent Essie Bellfield filed, along with challengers Paul Burch and Terrie T. Salter. Only registered voters who live within the boundaries of District 3 may cast a ballot in the race.
Larry Spears Jr. has filed for re-election to At-Large Position 6. No opponents have filed. All city registered voters elect the at-large positions.
Incumbent Dan Mohon has filed for the at-large seats on the Pinehurst City Council. No one has filed for the West Orange City Council race.
Filing for the elections will end Friday February 17. Early voting will start April 24.
