Orange police have arrested a 23-year-old on a warrant for aggravated robbery in connection with the hold-up of the Shell convenience store on Edgar Brown Jr. Drive on November 14.
Detective Captain Cliff Hargrave said Keyontay Young has been charged in connection with being the driver of the get-away car for the man who used a rifle to rob the store at 1:14 in the morning. He said Young was out on bond for two charges of aggravated robbery earlier in the year. Those charges came in connection with individuals being robbed at a convenience store on Strickland.
Captain Hargrave said Young was arrested on Wednesday after a call that gunshots were heard at the Arthur Robinson apartment complex on Burton Avenue.
Patrol Captain Keith Longlois went to investigate the gunshots and saw Young walking at the apartments. Captain Longlois knew Young had the robbery warrant pending, but Young ran away. Police found him hiding in a vacant house in the 1400 block of Fourth Street.
