Retired Orange police captain Cliff Hargrave has been named as the captain in charge of investigations at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Keith Merritt promoted Hargrave to the position which has been vacant since the death of Tom Ray.
Hargrave started his career with the sheriff’s office nearly 30 years ago. He then worked for the Orange Police Department for 25 years. He retired in January after serving as the captain of detectives for the department.
He went to work in the sheriff’s office during the summer in the identification department. His brother, Joey Hargrave, another veteran law officer, also works for the sheriff’s office.
