Ark in the Park offers exotic animal encounters, trick or treat
Tortoises and pumpkins and candy oh my!
That’s just some of what kids will get to experience at “Ark in the Park” 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. Sat. Oct. 28 at West Park (located on West Park Ave. near Robert’s Steakhouse) in Pinehurst.
“Like just about everyone we got greatly impacted by the floods. We are not in a position to do a whole lot right now but we wanted to bring some good cheer to the kids of community so we will be setting up with our animals and have invited friends and business to bring out candy and games,” said Chester Moore with Kingdom Zoo.
The free event will feature opportunities to feed large tortoises, take photos with a variety of exotic animals and trick or treat.
“We’re doing it “Trunk or Treat” style minus the vehicles
with 10 different families and businesses set up with lots of candy and games to give away. Kids can come trick or treat and then encounter some amazing wildlife,” Moore said.
Moore said the City of Pinehurst has been very gracious and supportive in preparing the park and supporting the event.
“The Kingdom Zoo Crue is excited for Saturday!”
