The Orangefield Bobcats open Week 9 at home Thursday against Anahuac in a battle of unbeaten district teams. Anahuac enters the game with the districts top offense at 390 ypg and 33 points per game while the Bobcats are second at 330 ypg and 23 ppg so it won’t be a surprise to see a high scoring affair in FL McLain Stadium.
WOS will make the 200 mile round trip to play a district game against the Shepherd Pirates. The ground and pound Pirates come in with a 6-1 record but their opponents in those wins are a combined 11-31.
Bridge City (3-5) is trying to put together their first two game win streak against a pesky Liberty team. The Panthers also like to keep it on the ground as three rushers have combined for 2000 yds. on the season.
This week’s theme of ground and pound will certainly include the Vidor Homecoming game vs Huffman. The Falcons have the districts top rusher in Drayden Bacon (1812) the Pirates have the top rushing offense with more than 2100 yds. on the ground.
