A woman had an accident Thursday afternoon. A few minutes later, the Cadillac she was driving ran into the back of a stopped pickup truck on another road. A passenger in the pickup was injured.
Orange police about 1 p.m. Thursday went to a collision on FM 1130 and the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Officer Dylan Jinks reported a 2009 Cadillac CTS, driven by 38-year-old Donna Arnold of Port Neches, was traveling southbound on 1130.
A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 49-year-old Brazoria man, had been traveling south on 1130 and was stopped at the traffic sign at the intersection. The Cadillac crashed into the back of the pickup truck.
The 53-year-old passenger in the pickup, also a man from Brazoria, was injured. He was taken by Acadian Ambulance to a local emergency care clinic.
Officer Jinks said Arnold was given a ticket for failure to control speed. The Cadillac had to be towed away.
Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Stephanie Davis said troopers were called to an accident involving Arnold and the Cadillac on FM 1078 before the crash with the truck.
She said the Cadillac, for an unknown reason, went off the roadway, hit a fence, and landed in a ditch. A nearby county worker pulled the car out.
FM 1078 intersects with FM 1130 north of MLK Drive.
