
Looking to build off of their tournament win last weekend the Orangefield Lady Bobcats opened district at home Tuesday. Unfortunately the Hardin Hornets had other ideas with a 44-40 win. Olivia Smith was OF’s leading scorer with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Brooklyn Wagoner followed with 10 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals, while Mikayla Locke added 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
The JV won 45–20. Ainsley McAlpin finished with 10 points, 5 steals, and 3 assists. Maddie Breaux added 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, and Melissa Saucedo contributed 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. The Lady Bobcats look to bounce back as they head into the Bill Tennison Tournament starting Thursday.

State ranked Bridge City had a rough start as they couldn’t buy a bucket, but they finished strong with a 42-14 win. Aubrey Small had the only buckets in the first half and finished with 12. Kailey Nelson had 8 in the win.

LCM traveled to Nederland and came home with the sweep of the Lady Bulldogs. The varsity won 42-33. Asia Woodson led play offensively, tallying 10 points. Maya Meadows and Eden Frenzel each had 6, and Taylor Huckaby had 5.
JV got the night started with a 40-38 win, fighting off a Lady Bulldog comeback in the 4th quarter. Haylynn Trosclair led the way with 13 points, Alivah Jasso had 8 points, and Sawyer Lofton had 5. The Lady Bears will be off Friday and will take on Jasper Tuesday to begin district play.

Deweyville beat WOS 39-37. Kambelle Blackwell had 24 and Katelynn Cibrian added 7. Kyla Blagburn had 7 for the Mustangs.

Vidor lost to Evadale 49-46.
BOYS
Bridge City lost a close one at PNG 62-57. Cardinals were led by Aaden Bush with 28 pts. Abraham Munguia chipped in with 9. BC moves to (7-5) on the season and travel to Montgomery this weekend for our last tournament of the season.

Monday the Vidor Pirates beat Hamshire-Fannett 70-48. Eric Baker – 18 pts, Caden Beavers – 17 pts, Noah Rains – 14 pts. The boys travel to Montgomery this weekend to compete in their tournament against some great competition.
