An accident involving two 18 wheelers on Interstate 10 Tuesday evening kept traffic tied up for hours in Orange County.
Two big rigs collided in the eastbound lanes of I-10 near the FM1132 exit or the 865mm. Scattered debris and truck parts closed down two of the three lanes as well as the service road. After several hours authorities closed the interstate and opened up the service road for travelers.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 7:25 p.m., a truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling east and reportedly failed to drive in a single lane to the right and struck the rear of a truck tractor semi-trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the road. The driver of the truck tractor that was traveling east was transported to St. Elizabeth for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the parked truck tractor was not injured.
