The Bridge City Cardinals and Vidor Pirates gave the fans their moneys worth in a 14-13 Cardinal win. For BC it’s their sixth one run victory.
The Cards (5-0) had a 14-10 lead going into the bottom of the sixth. The Pirates (4-3) scored three runs but popped out for the third out with the tying run at third. In the seventh the Pirates got the tying run on base but the runner was picked off at first by pitcher Austin Frederick.
Hutch Bearden was 2-2 with a HR, 3 runs scored and 3RBI. Connor Riojas was 2-4 with a double and John VanHuis was 2-3 with 2 runs scored and Frederick was 1-3 with 2walks, 2 runs scored and 3RBI’s.
For the Pirates Westin Baker and Aiden Simms had two hits each. Cade Safer had a hit and 3RBI’s and Austin Cadroy was 1-3 with 2RBI’s. BC used six pitchers and Vidor threw five. The two will play again on Friday in BC.

LCM defeated Lumberton 8-5. The Bears (2-3) jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings. Parker Freeman (2RBI) and Justin McCarver (3RBI) had two hits each and Landon Richards had a homerun. Richards also got the start and struck out 8 and gave up one earned run on two hits in four innings for the win.

Orangefield whacked Kirbyville 11-1 scoring six runs in the fifth to end the game early. Kaleb Menard dominated giving up one run on just two hits with 6K’s and one walk in the five inning victory. Every Bobcat in the starting lineup had at least one hit. Caleb Fregia and Carson Worthy drove in two each. The Bobcats (7-0) are at East Chambers Friday.
