Shelia was born September 14, 1950 in Orange, TX. She graduated from Mauriceville High School on May 25, 1968 and married Chuck Wilson of Niagra Falls, New York on May 26, 1968, the next day after graduation.
Shelia is survived by her brother Rickey McClelland (and wife Tina), sister Deborah “Debbie ” McClelland Rollins; children Sean E. Wilson and Staci Wilson Walker; grandchildren Devin Walker, Kamron Walker and Tyler Walker (wife Carson) and was blessed with four great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Shelia and Chuck met on a blind date in 1967, while Chuck was on furlough for the Holidays from the Military. He came home with a buddy who was the brother of one of Shelia’s best friends and classmates. A six-way date, and a blind one for Shelia and Chuck revealed love at first site. The two were married just six months later.
Shelia grew up next door to her paternal grandparents Lillie and Press McClelland . This afforded grandpa to go to the nearby country store and carry along his first grandchild. Shelia. He would buy her all the candy, ice cream and soda the two could carry. This was a regular and often trip. Those were memorable times with grandpa.
Shelia was highly talented. She was an exceptional baker, even baking wedding cakes and had her own bake shop near Mauriceville. She created beautiful crafts for family and friends. Additionally, she opened her own Daycare in Orange, TX. This allowed her to express her natural affinity and love for babies and children. Her right hand man and son, Sean, assisted her in the running of the Daycare. Shelia also managed several businesses with Chuck.
Shelia was sweet, kind, patient and a lady of faith. She accepted Jesus as her Savior in her youth. We hold onto our sweet and loving memories until we see her again.
