The Celebration of Life for Mr. Samuel C. Thompson, 69, of Orange, will be Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 11am at the St. Paul Baptist Church under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.
Rites of Christian Entombment will follow at Magnolia Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 10 until 11am.
Samuel Cal Thompson was born September 4, 1953, in Orange, TX to Amanda (Haskins) Thompson and Peter Thompson.
Raised and educated here, he was a Maintenance Supervisor for E.I. Dupont Sabine River Works Plant. He retired after 25 years of service.
For more than 10 years he was actively involved in the Julie Rogers Gift of Life Program to help those in need.
He was a member of the St. Paul Baptist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees.
He passed Monday, April 17, 2023, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah “Elaine” Thompson of Orange, one son, Christopher Thompson of San Antonio, TX, one daughter, Courtney Thompson of Orange, one brother, David Thompson (Emma) of Orange, two sisters, Lula Thomas of Orange and Dorothy Patton of Desoto, TX.
