Sales tax payments to local entities continue to rise as people buy items as part of the recovery after Tropical Storm Harvey. The Texas Comptroller’s Office has sent the checks covering the sales from February.
The payments are:
Bridge City (1.5 percent sales tax): $127,958 for the month and $587,963 for the year to date, an increase of 22.2 percent.
Orange (1.5 percent sales tax): $425,751 for the month and $1.833 million for the year to date, a 33 percent increase.
Pinehurst (1.5 percent sales tax): $52,525 for the month and $234,090 for the year to date, a 21.4 percent increase.
Vidor (1.5 percent sales tax): $212,733 for the month and $993,752 for the year to date, a 24.46 percent increase.
West Orange (1.25 percent sales tax): $91,467 for the month and $438,070 for the year to date, a 12.5 percent increase.
Orange County (0.5 percent sales tax): $418,173 for the month and $1.8 million for the year to date, a 39.1 percent increase.
Emergency Service District No. 3 in Little Cypress (1.5 percent sales tax): $12,017 for the month and $64,058 for the year to date, a 4.77 percent increase.
