Graveside services for Ruby E. Gill, 79, of Huntington, will be held Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Dunkin Cemetery in Zavalla with Minister Mack Dunkin officiating.
Ruby E. Gill was born on December 9, 1943, in Alma, Georgia, to the late James Ruby Gill and Edna Vickers, and died Saturday, April 29, 2023, in Lufkin.
Ruby was a member of Church of Christ in West Orange, Mauriceville, and lastly in Zavalla. She loved her family and friends dearly. Ruby also enjoyed singing, studying her bible, having conversations about the bible and enjoyed being around kids. She always looked forward to entertaining and having friends over.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Kim Dunkin of Diboll; grandson and wife, Michael and Jordy Miller of Lafayette, LA; granddaughter and husband, Meagan and Daniel Cecil of Deer Park, TX; grandson, Garrett Dunkin of Conroe, TX; granddaughter and husband, Savannah and Kyle Hill of Baytown, TX; great-granddaughter and husband, Charley and Matt Taylor of Lake Charles, LA; great-grandson, Cameron Miller of Moss Hill, LA; great-granddaughter, Carley Miller of Lake Charles, LA; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Cecil of Deer Park, TX; great-granddaughter, Aria Cecil of Deer Park, TX; great-grandson, Jace Hill of Baytown, TX; great-grandson, Liam Hill of Baytown, TX; sister, Colleen Eaves of Tomball, TX; sister and husband, Bobby and James Kibodeaux of Orange, TX; sister and husband, Martha and Gene Cormier of Louisiana; sister, Barbara Montana of Jasper, TX; brother, Johnny Gill of Orange, TX; stepdaughter, Rhonda Funderburke of Tennessee; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Donnie Gill and Ronnie Gill.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Gill, Michael Miller, Garrett Dunkin, Daniel Cecil, Kyle Hill and Cameron Miller.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Shafer Funeral Home.
