Raymond Eugene Marlow, 96, of Vidor, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at his home surrounded by his devoted wife and children. A longtime resident of Vidor, he lived a full and faithful life marked by hard work, dedication to family, and a deep sense of community.
Raymond was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After returning home, he built a long and steady career as an operator at East Texas Paper Mill, where he worked for 35 years before retiring.
Outside of work, Raymond found joy in the simple things he loved most. He enjoyed fishing, spending time outdoors, and was actively involved as an assistant scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. More than anything, he loved supporting his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their many activities and sporting events, always showing up with pride and encouragement.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Janet Marlow of Vidor, TX; his children, Raymond Eugene Marlow, Jr. and Debra of New Braunfels, TX, Susan Zeigle and husband Ted of Katy, TX, Richard Marlow and wife Teresa of Vidor, TX, and Donna Frederick and husband Michael of Fannett, TX, and daughter-in-law Teri Marlow of Rowlett, TX; and his brother, Garland Marlow of Lumberton, TX.
He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Missy Owen and husband Chase, Nick Zeigle and wife Nataly, Lindsey Borski and husband Cameron, Robby Marlow and wife Cassie, Derek Moss and wife Brandi, and Paige Frederick, along with thirteen great-grandchildren who will continue to carry his legacy forward.
Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Marlow; his grandson, Richie Marlow; and his great-grandson, Cameron Marlow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
Raymond will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, and the quiet strength that defined his life.
