BEAUMONT, TX – In March 2025, Southern Road and Bridge, LLC began extensive maintenance work on the Rainbow Bridge.
The scope of work included a full-depth concrete deck restoration, steel railing repairs, and the replacement of 1,200 rivets and four steel member pins. The Rainbow Bridge is held together by these rivets and pins, which are essential to the structure’s overall integrity.
The project was originally scheduled for an 18-month timeline. Thanks to the contractor’s commitment to timely progress—and weather permitting—the maintenance project is now expected to be completed six months ahead of schedule.
Motorists should expect to transition back to the Rainbow Bridge in March. The contractor will also begin removing the concrete traffic barriers on the Veterans Memorial Bridge.
