The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers investigated a fatal crash on Farm-to-Market Road 105 near Sunnydale, that occurred Friday, August 21, 2026.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 8:30 p.m., a 2020 Jeep Wrangler was traveling north. It is reported that a pedestrian entered the roadway and was struck by the Jeep.
DPS reported the driver of the Jeep, 47-year-old Jennifer Riley of Kountze, was not injured.
The pedestrian, identified as a 59-year-old male of Vidor, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff. Their information is not immediately available pending notification of their next of kin.
