The Orange City Council will vote Tuesday to award a $1.3 million contract for repaving work on 12 streets north of Interstate 10.
After analyzing bids, Public Works Director Jim Wolf is recommending the contract go to LD Construction in Beaumont.
The money is coming from the $8 million bonds the council agreed to issue last year. The council voted for street improvements to be the largest expenditure for the major projects. Several streets south of the interstate will also be repaved.
The streets north of the interstate the city will repave are:
Clark Lane from Highway 87 to Meeks Drive
Meeks Drive from Allie Payne Road to MLK Jr. Drive
Luther Drive from Meeks Drive to Carrie Street
Beagle Road from the dead end to FM 1130
Bob Hall Road from interstate 10 to Allie Payne Road
Enner Road from Interstate 10 to Bob Hall Road
27th Street from Interstate 10 to Eddleman Road
Eddleman Road from Meeks Drive to 27th Street
Sikes Road east end
Sikes Road west end from MLK Jr. Drive to the east end
Holcomb Drive from 27th Street to the dead end
Clark Circle east and west
The council meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council chambers next to the Orange Public Library. The city’s economic development corporation board of directors will meet at 5 p.m.
