Born in Freer, Texas, on February 22, 1939, she was the daughter of William Alfred Warnock and Roberta Grace (Hammons) Warnock. God put Pat on this earth and He made sure she was unique and strong. He gave her a quirky quick sense of humor and a love for animals. Her love for her daughters protected and disciplined them. She would stand in the gap for her girls if someone wronged them but held them accountable if they were wrong. She wasn’t afraid to hop on one foot to take off a slip-on Pixie shoe or grab a switch! Like all moms, she wasn’t perfect. As her girls grew older, they learned, most of the time, when things were far from perfect in her personal life she carried on. Trying hard, when they were young, to keep their lives on track… even if her world was tipping. We celebrate her for everything she was including everything she was not because God created her wonderfully and beautifully. It’s difficult to choose one word that reflects her multi-faceted personality. She loved the outdoors and rescued countless cats. She was hard-working, hilarious, fierce and sometimes ornery. She loved music, singing, whistling and knew the words to many songs. She adored her grandsons and sat for many hours enduring the Texas weather in a lawn chair or on the bleachers watching them play sports. Later she loved their wives and her great-grandchildren. In the 1970s, she was the ‘Friday Night Shenanigans Planner’ for the Maplecrest Baptist Church youth group. She loved her family deeply but most importantly, she was saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and was a child of God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Roberta Warnock; husband, Herman Walton; and longtime companion cat, Kitsie Marie.
She is survived by her daughters, Bobbi Hinote and husband Gary of Orange, Robin Klykken of Leakey, and Dana Dorsey and husband James of Concan; grandchildren, Beaux Hinote and wife Amy, Wes Hinote and wife Rhonda, and Seth Dorsey and wife Ali; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Penny Ward; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Ward, Gary Hinote, James Dorsey, Greg Tunnell, Seth Dorsey, Beaux Hinote, and Wes Hinote.
