
Pamela “Pam” D. Hawkins, 70, of Burkeville, Texas, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Pam was a longtime resident of Vidor, Texas, before moving to Burkeville 15 years ago. She was known for her warm heart and generous spirit, especially when it came to cooking for her family—something she truly loved. Pam enjoyed hunting and had a creative side, finding joy in art and crafts. Her home was often filled with love, laughter, and the comfort she so naturally provided to those around her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Lee Hawkins III of Burkeville, Texas; her children, Johnny Baker and wife Misty of Vidor, Texas, and Connie Baker of Jasper, Texas; and her stepson, Lee Hawkins IV. She is also survived by her siblings, Wanda Felty and husband Rick of Purcell, Oklahoma, and Derek Van Metre and wife Anna of Vidor, Texas. Pam leaves behind nine grandchildren and one great-grandson, all of whom were a great source of pride and joy in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jean Van Metre; her siblings, Wendy Smith, Paula Nesbitt, and Dennis Van Metre; and her beloved son, Teddy O’Dell Baker.
Pam will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her and the love she gave so freely.
