Accident Kills One On Motorcycle
On May 3, 2025 at 2:15 pm the Orange Police Department, Orange Fire Department, and Acadian EMS responded to the 3100 Block of Edgar Brown Drive regarding a traffic accident. The initial investigation found that a black Kia Carnival van, travelling north on Edgar Brown crossed into the south bound lane of travel. There, the van collided with a Honda motorcycle and a white Toyota 4-Runner. Bobcats Compete At Regionals
Four members of the Bobcat Tennis team hit the road last weekend to compete in the 3A Region III Tournament in College Station, TX. The day started early for the singles competitors with both Cane Ritchey and Izzy Mills hitting the court at 8:30 to open play. Mills, who was runner-up in last month’s district tournament, faced the toughest task to get things started as she drew Madilynn Hamilton of McGregor. Hamilton would go on to win her second consecutive regional championship, but not before getting all she wanted from Izzy who showed up ready to play. Reid Resigns As Superintendent
Robert Reid, who was once in administration at West Orange Cove ISD, has resigned as Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Beaumont. He held the position for 14 months. Joseph Clifton Moore, 88, of Vidor, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 2nd, 2025. A longtime resident of Vidor, Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an airplane mechanic. After his military service, he dedicated 35 years to Valero, where he retired as a supervisor. Bobcats On To Round Two
Orangefield jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and hung on for a 7-5 win to complete the two game sweep over Diboll in Jasper Friday. The Bobcats had nine hits in the game, two each from Cole Sanches, Kaleb Menard, Carson Worthy and Logan Anderson with Layne Reynolds picking up the other along with his team leading 17th RBI. DPS: No Hit and Run
Following an early morning accident May 1 that took the life of a 21 year old Vidor man, Texas DPS believed a black truck had left the scene and they were asking for the publics assistance. UPDATE: Through further investigation, it has been determined that the crash was not a hit-and-run crash and that DPS is no longer searching for an involved dark colored vehicle. It was determined that the 2019 Ford passenger car was traveling west, while the 2015 Dodge passenger car was traveling east.
