It is with deep sadness, that the family of Rev. Mildred Ann Robinson, 52, of Orange, Texas, announces her passing, on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Mildred was an ordained minister with the United Pentecostal Church International through which she was the pastor and founder of the Powerhouse Church of Beaumont, Texas. She excelled in obtaining a Masters in Education and was employed with Beaumont Federal Prison System, for 27 years, and retired from Pollock Federal Prison System in 2024. Born in Beaumont, Kim was a longtime resident of Vidor and spent many years working as a legal assistant in the Beaumont area. Kim had a vibrant spirit and a love for the outdoors. Carl David Caldwell, 73, of Vidor, passed away on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A lifelong resident of Vidor, Carl was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He later dedicated 46 and a half years to his career at Westrock Papermill in Evadale before retiring. by Sheriff Colton Havard Arrest in Deweyville: On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, a Newton County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the Deweyville community, when he conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle with no license plates. Man Loses Life In ATV Accident
On May 3, 2025, at 12:17 p.m., deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the area of South Terry Road and Concord Street, in Vidor. It had been reported an accident occurred while a group of people were operating ATVs near a canal. Upon arrival, deputies were able to assist EMS in transporting an unresponsive, 20-year-old, male, to an ambulance to be transported to the hospital.
