Weekly Fishing Report Week of August 28, 2024 Sam RayburnGOOD. Water stained; 87 degrees; 0.40 feet above pool. Water is off-colored like the lake is trying to turnover. Water is being released. Hydrilla is surfacing and could be a good place to cast for bass. Bass are slow in shallow water in brush with many smaller fish being caught on frogs, and spinnerbaits. Deeper bass bite is fair with Carolina rigs. Crappie are slow moving to and from the brush to timber. Catfish are all over the lake in 20 feet of water and in 12 feet of water in the creek channels. Dallas To Miss Next Season
Chad Dallas' season came to an early end after he had Tommy John surgery on Monday. The right hand pitcher has spent the season with the Toronto Blue Jays Triple A affiliate in Buffalo. He had the "full" repair and is expected to miss all of next season. "There are three types of Tommy John Surgery," he said. "At first they thought it was a partial tear and maybe heal on its on but that didn't happen. So Dr. Keith Meister, who is the expert at this surgery, repaired the whole thing." The East Roundbunch Swing Bridge remains closed to traffic and it could remain closed for another couple of weeks. The bridge has been closed since August 18. Precinct 3 Commissioner Kirk Roccaforte says the electrical control panel is not functioning properly and it will be a couple of weeks before a technician will arrive at the location and repair the problem.
