Bears and Tigers on KOGT Friday

The first win of the season for the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears has Coach Randy Crouch excited about the improvement his Bears are showing each week. Crouch compliments the Bears offense for playing extremely well and did an outstanding job moving the football creating problems for Hardin-Jefferson’s defense. Beau Bickham was credited by Crouch as having played very well. Both Samuel King and Chris Winters ran the ball effectively in the contest. Lucille Myers, 99, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on September 21, 2015, at her home. Patricia Ann Ahlgrim, 72, of Orange passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Pat was born on August 3, 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas to parents Mae Bell (Holzer) and Ralph Donald Cochrum. She had lived in the Orange area since 1969 and she was of the Baptist Faith. Pat was manager of Circle K in Orange for many years. She enjoyed going hunting, making dolls and she loved spending time with her family. Health Inspections

Orange County Health Inspector James Scales gave perfect scores to three businesses dealing with food during the first part of September. During that time, he made 20 inspections. Five received no scores. Two were church soup kitchens, First Presbyterian and Mount Sinai Baptist Church, both in Orange. The churches had no violations but were not scored. Three businesses received pre-opening inspections. Old Orange Cafe was the only restaurant making a 100.
