Mustangs Shut Out Cards 7-0
Game One goes to the WOS Mustangs as they defeated Bridge City 7-0 in Jasper Friday. Game Two and Three if needed will begin at 10am Saturday on KOGT from Jasper. WOS scored their seven runs on just two hits, six of those runs in the third inning with the big hit coming from Kaleb Ramsey who scored three on a hit into centerfield that got away from Justyn Romero after trying to make a diving catch. Woman Robs Bank Friday
A woman robbed the Capital One Bank, 3738 16th Street, about 4 Friday afternoon. Orange Police Lieutenant Jason Ashworth said a woman entered the bank and handed a demand letter to a teller. The woman then left with cash. The robber went to the nearby parking lot at TSO and discarded some clothing. The lieutenant said she apparently was wearing two layers of clothes. The woman got into a small black car and drove southbound on 16th Street. The woman is described as having olive skin, 5-feet to 5-feet-2-inches tall, and heavyset. Mitchel Lee struck out seven and walked only one as the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears beat the Silsbee Tigers 7-2 Thursday in Jasper to advance to the fourth round of the playoffs. The Bears, who had to have a play0in game just to make the playoffs as the fourth place team in 24-4A, were lead at the plate by Peyton Choate who was 3-4 with a triple, and Drake Trawhon who was 2-3. 106 Year Old House Receives Marker
The branches of live oak trees shade the streets in the Old Orange Historic District and one of the trees will be offering a shady spot for new Texas Historical Marker. The marker is for the 106-year-old house at 612 W. Orange Avenue and it will be dedicated Sunday at 2 p.m. Judge Jerry and Susan Pennington, the current owners, are offering tours of the two-story, wood frame house after the dedication.
