Orange County Health Inspector James Scales found most food service places in good shape when he visited 19 businesses during the first part of May. He cited the Kwik Stop Valero on South Main Street in Vidor with need for follow-up visits. However, the lowest score during the time was a 77 and went to Happy Donuts on South Main Street in Vidor. Scales gave four perfect scores with three being child care centers. Road Rage With 18-Wheeler?
A reported Interstate 10 collision Wednesday morning is being investigated as a case of aggravated assault after the driver of an 18-wheel truck rig intentionally hit a small SUV that had passed him. Orange police report the 18-wheeler struck the SUV several times in the rear, forced the vehicle into the center wall and pushed it for a distance. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were called to the scene near FM 1136 at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Bridge City beat Silsbee 11-1 in six innings Thursday to take Game One of their best of three series at Lamar University. Silsbee scored in the bottom of the first. BC would tie it in the second and then take the lead in the third and never look back. Freshman Peyton Havard threw a complete game, giving up one run on 6 hits, four strikeouts and four walks.
