Bridge City beat Silsbee 11-1 in six innings Thursday to take Game One of their best of three series at Lamar University.
Silsbee scored in the bottom of the first. BC would tie it in the second and then take the lead in the third and never look back.
Freshman Peyton Havard threw a complete game, giving up one run on 6 hits, four strikeouts and four walks. The Cardinals scored 11 runs on 12 hits off three Silsbee pitchers (Trevis Sundgren 5, Spencer Uribe 2/3, Noah Bayless 1/3). Three of those hits were from leadoff hitter Schuyler Thibodaux and another three from freshman Logan Hamm.
