Mikivion Devote Wallace of Orange was arrested and faces charges of burglary and evading arrest.
A caller told police dispatch two burglars were seen coming from the store, 603 Strickland Drive. The suspects were seen running behind the gas station-convenience store to the north of the Home Depot. The suspects were wearing white or light gray hoodies and one began running north.
Officers went behind the gas station and found three new weed-eaters and a leaf-blower still in the box. The Pinehurst officer saw one of the men running through a field on the other side of Strickland.
While chasing the man, an officer saw a man with a white shirt and gray sweatpants sitting in a ditch.
