At approximately 7:30pm Friday Orange Police attempted to stop a vehicle near Godwin Circle that was involved in a disturbance. The driver ran up on the curb and got out and fled the scene.
Officers tried catching the man but he got away so they set up a perimeter in the area and began to search.
An officer encountered a dog who bit him on the leg and the officer was forced to put him down. Animal control was called in to retrieve the dog. The officer was not seriously injured and the subject had not been caught as of this post.
