Marilou S. Zollins, 80, of Vidor, TX went peacefully surrounded by her family on February 14, 2026. Born on August 8, 1945, in Allentown, New Jersey, Marilou a dedicated Seventh-Day Adventist lived a life rooted in faith, family, and joyful praise.
Marilou’s life was a testament to God’s grace and enduring love. From an early age, she carried music in her heart. She faithfully served her church community through song, lifting her voice in worship and playing both the guitar and piano with passion and devotion. Music was not just her gift—it was her ministry. Through every hymn and melody, she shared her faith and brought comfort and inspiration to others.
She was the beloved wife of Walter J. Zollins Jr. for 58 years, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and steadfast commitment. Together they built a home grounded in Christian values and unconditional love. Marilou was a devoted mother to Timothy Zollins, Shiree Lugo wife of Christopher Lugo, and Andrew Zollins, who preceded her in death in 2021. Though Andrew’s passing brought profound sorrow, she held firmly to her faith, trusting in God’s promise of eternal life and reunion. Her love for her children was unwavering, sacrificial, and full of grace.
She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Damian Lugo, Angelo Lugo, Lazaro Lugo, Gabriela Zollins, and Brooklyn Zollins. Her grandchildren were among her greatest earthly blessings, and she cherished every moment spent with them. They loved her dearly and will forever carry her songs, her prayers, and her gentle guidance in their hearts.
Marilou was preceded in death by her loving parents, Herbert S. Spair (2004) and Margaret Johnson (2006), and by her brother Richard Spair, who passed in Hamilton Square, New Jersey, at the age of 83. She is survived by her brother Herbie Spair of Robbinsville, New Jersey, age 92, and by her beloved twin sister, Margaret Billig, age 80, of Allentown, Pennsylvania—a lifelong companion and cherished friend.
Marilou’s life reflected the words of Proverbs 31—strength and dignity were her clothing, and she spoke with wisdom and faithful instruction. She prayed faithfully for her family, encouraged others in their walk with Christ, and lived as a quiet but powerful example of devotion and kindness.
Though her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the assurance that she is at peace. Her legacy of faith, music, and love will continue to echo through generations.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
