On September 30, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Vidor Police officers attempted to stop an E-bicyclist for observed traffic violations.
The rider failed to stop for the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights and siren and fled before coming to a stop in the 800 block of North Tannahill Street.
The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Tyler Brown, was taken into custody.
Officers discovered Brown had an outstanding warrant from Hardin County.
During the subsequent investigation, officers determined Brown had recently stolen the bicycle from Wal-Mart, just prior to the attempted traffic stop.
The bicycle was recovered and returned to Walmart.
Brown was transported to the Orange County Jail where he was released to jail staff without incident.
