“Date Night at the Museum is such a special evening that allows us to celebrate and showcase the remarkable talent of our college student artists,” said Kyra Hall, studio & public programs coordinator of the Stark Museum of Art. “We are also thrilled to enhance this experience by partnering with guest artist Calvin Carter. He brings a wealth of knowledge and creative insight to us, which will provide an exciting, new perspective to the evening.”
Calvin Carter pursued his art career at Lamar University and graduated with a bachelor’s in fine art. Carter became a high school art teacher, and he continued to paint figurative art for some time before moving back to his early childhood passion of wildlife and sporting art. He has created numerous Texas Stamp prints and placed in the Federal Duck Stamp Contest in 2013-2014. His Native American Art has been featured in the APA show, Southwest Art Magazine, Art of the West, Bosque Classic and the Pearce Museum’s permanent collection.
