
Linda Adell Smith, age 77, of Orange, Texas dearly departed to her eternal heavenly home to see the Lord on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 in Orange Texas. Services to honor Linda will be held at 12:00PM, Friday, December 1st , 2023 at Dorman Funeral Home; Brother Doug Fredrick will be officiating. Her burial will immediately follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation of family and friends will be held prior to the service, from 11:00AM-12:00PM.
Linda was born on Saturday, December 15th, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one of five children born to Rosa and Calvin Jones. When Linda was a toddler her family moved to Odessa, Texas where spent her childhood and graduated Odessa High School. She was a Nurse in the Army for 2 years and 8 months. She served her country at the Walter Reed Medical Center during the Vietnam war. She was highly accomplished in her military career. After the military, Linda worked as a Nurse until she retired. She was married to Sterling Smith for 21 years before his passing in 2009. With that marriage brought eight step children, whom she viewed as her own. Linda was a beloved member of Brownwood Baptist Church for 20 years. She taught Sunday school and was highly involved in the church community. Linda was a disciple of Christ, nothing joyed her more than sharing the love and promise of Jesus Christ to those around her. Linda was wonderful woman who will be missed by many.
Linda is proceeded in death by her mother, Rosa Jones; her father, Calvin Jones; her husband, Sterling Smith; her step daughter, Tracy Wright; and her son, John.
Linda is survived by her brothers, James Jones, Charles Jones, David Jones; sister, Melba Dluqonski; step children, Christina Dehm and husband, Mike Dehm, Ray Smith and wife, Nancy Smith, Rhonda Earnest and husband, William Earnest, Keri Harrison and husband, Scotty Harrison, Robert (Bobby) Smith and wife, Shannon Smith, Dallas Smith and wife, Belynda Smith, William (Billy) Smith and wife, Amanda Smith; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a numerous amount of nieces and nephews.
Those honoring Linda as pallbearers are Billy Smith, Joey Earnest, Brayden Earnest, Chase Williams, Alex Huff, and Scotty Jones.
