
Kurt Anthony Schexnider was born December 19, 1959, and passed away March 18, 2026, at the age of 66.
He dedicated 23 years of his life to nursing. Serving others with compassion, strength, and unwavering commitment. Throughout his career, he made a meaningful impact on the lives of countless patients and colleagues, always offering comfort, care, and kindness.
Beyond his profession, he was a man who truly cherished life’s simple pleasures. He had a remarkable talent in the kitchen and was widely known for his exceptional cooking, especially his gumbo and egg rolls, which became favorites among family and friends. Sharing meals was one of the many ways he brought people together and expressed his love.
He also had a passion for landscaping and took great pride in creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces. Whether working in his own yard or helping others, he found joy in the results of his hard work and the peace that came with it.
Above all, he was a loving husband, a devoted family man, and a cherished brother-in-law and son-in-law. He was deeply loved by all of his family, and his presence brought warmth, laughter, and strength to those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Schexnider; sister, Karen Schexnider; and numerous extended family, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, JC Schexnider. Cremation was entrusted to Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
