
Kenneth W. Earl, 76, of Orange, passed away on August 28, in Port Arthur.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, on January 10, 1945, he was the son of William Earl and Florene (Rose) Earl. Kenneth was a man of many talents and abilities. He was an Eagle Scout, as well as a Forman at Bethlehem Steel. After graduating from Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree in music at all levels; his music career included choir, orchestra, and band at all levels. He became a band teacher at SFA. He went on to play in the McAllen Community Band for 10 years.
Kenneth was also, a self-employed hearing aid specialist for over 30 years. He served on the board of the State of Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the Dispensing of Hearing Instruments for seven years. He was proud that could be part of helping to make the hearing industry better. He was Board Certified by the National Board of Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (BC-HIS) and he was licensed in the state of Texas and Louisiana. When he wasn’t in the classroom or providing hearing help for those that needed aid, Kenneth enjoyed deep sea fishing. He also was an expert scuba diver and a pilot.
Above all else, Kenneth was a man that put God first, just as the Bible and God called for. He prospered and supported his family. His family never went without because he always made sure their needs were fulfilled.
Kenneth was a man that could weld at a shipyard, was self-employed with Ornamental Iron Works, worked as a detective, taught music, and played his instruments so beautifully during his lifetime. He won three years in a row at the Allstate Music Awards for his baritone playing skills and sound.
He was a man that gave without question, and out of all his accomplishments he has done, the one thing that he cherished more than anything was his relationship with Jesus Christ, our Messiah. His family knows in their hearts that he is in Heaven, no longer suffering from Parkinson’s disease and is blissfully happy. He will be deeply missed by all those that held him dear.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, William and Florene Earl; and nephew, Travis Earl.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice S. (Humphries) Earl; Burton Earl and spouse Yanny, of The Woodlands, and David and Rachel Young, of Orange; grandchildren, Aiden Gordon Young, David Jonathan Young, Joseph Aaron-David Young, Joshua Christopher Earl, and Caleb Earl; as well as his brother, William Earl, Jr.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Simple Tributes.
