Add a tropical flare to your garden with bananas! Learn how to plant and care for bananas, as well as the best varieties to grow in our area. This free program begins promptly at 10 a.m. and will last approximately one hour.

Wild Wednesdays
June 25 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Join us for free family-friendly programs on select Wednesdays in June, July and August. All Wild Wednesday programs are paired with a book. Each adventure will begin with story time, followed by hands-on activities that are related to the story. Be prepared for reading to come to life as we explore nature! *Registration is required and opens 2 weeks prior to each program.

Animal Detectives – Entering 1st-2nd Grades
July 8th-11th from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Put on your detective hat and join us for a wild week of discovery! In this hands-on outdoor adventure, campers will explore the world of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and insects. From tracking animal clues to uncovering hidden habitats, our little EcoRangers will become nature’s best sleuths. *Registration is required and opens June 10th @ 9 a.m.

Back to Nature – Entering 3rd-4th Grades
July 29th-August 1st from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Come explore the forest trails, hike along the swamp, cruise the bayou and get back to nature! Campers will learn how to use a compass, make cane poles for fishing, build a survival shelter and develop map making skills. Campers will learn several skills to help them get back to nature! *Registration is required and opens July 1st @ 9 a.m.

Running Wild – Entering 5th-6th Grades
July 22nd-25th from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Join us as we venture on nature hikes down Shangri La’s back trails, enjoy picnics and boat rides, explore our outpost classrooms and try our hands at cane pole fishing. Each day brings new team challenges and fun games, and by the end of the week, our EcoRangers will take home a ‘Wild Wall’ filled with funny photos and unforgettable memories. *Registration is required and opens June 24 @ 9 a.m.

Hidden Wonders – Entering 7th-9th Grades
July 15th-18th from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Join us for a camp where adventure meets education! Campers will uncover the hidden treasures of Mr. H.J. Lutcher Stark’s Shangri La, exploring the wonders of nature through hands-on activities. Dive into natural history and focus on the vital role of trees and the signs of local wildlife. Learn the history of local Native American cultures, then get creative by writing and performing original skits. *Registration is required and opens June 17 @ 9 a.m.
