Joyce Bozeman, 92, of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Vidor Health and Rehab, surrounded by the love and memories of a life beautifully lived.
A longtime resident of Vidor, Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She served her community faithfully as an assisted librarian at the Vidor Library, where her quiet kindness and love for books touched the lives of many. She believed libraries were places of discovery and comfort, and she carried that same spirit into her everyday life.
Joyce had a deep appreciation for the simple and beautiful things. She loved her cats dearly and found peace tending to her flower gardens. An adventurer at heart, she cherished hiking trips through the Rocky Mountains, where she felt closest to nature. At home, she enjoyed restoring antique furniture, bringing old pieces back to life with patience and care. Her creative spirit shone through her love of arts and crafts, and she found joy in aquatics and watching birds, always pausing to admire their quiet grace.
Above all, Joyce treasured her family. She shared 72 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, James Bozeman of Vidor, TX. Their life together was a testament to enduring love, partnership, and devotion.
She is survived by her husband, James; her children, Jan Boyd and husband Danny of Vidor, TX, Steve Bozeman of Vidor, TX, Curtiss Bozeman of Vidor, TX, and Lisa Bozeman and partner Wayne Wright of Nederland, TX; and her five grandchildren, Alex Boyd, Joe, James Crystal, and Andy Bozeman, along with other cherished family members and friends.
Joyce’s gentle spirit, creative hands, and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Society in her memory.
