
John David Sackett passed away on December 18th with Covid in The Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
John is survived by his wife Linda Sue, of 57 years, his brother Jim Sackett and wife Treyce, and godson Clay Wilkins and wife Polly.
John was born on May 9th, 1937 in Joplin, MO. He came to Texas when he was in high school. He always claimed Texas was his home.
He was a proud Texas A&M graduate in 1959, went in the military for 4 years and came out as a Major. Years later he got his masters at Pepperdine University going to class in Dallas on weekends. He also attended Harvard for their Advanced Management Program.
John was the President of Alamo Iron Works in the early 80’s and became involved in the Chamber and on economic development.
Later in life he was a consultant for companies that needed help with their business.
John was an avid hunter and fisherman, talented mesquite furniture maker, photographer and chef.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the charity of your choice. A celebration of his life will be held in the Spring.
