
Jim Lee Stewart, 86, of Orangefield, Texas, passed away on October 18, 2025, at Oakwood Manor, Vidor, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
Visitation will begin prior to the service at 10:00 a.m., October 24, 2025, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
Born in Orangefield, Texas, on June 11, 1939, he was the son of Percy Lee Stewart and Frankie (Courmier) Stewart. He was a dedicated electrician at IBEW Local 479. Jim was known for his big heart and generous spirit. An old-fashioned gentleman, he valued the importance of family and loved spending time with his loved ones, although he kept his social circle small. A true homebody at heart, he found pleasure in the simplicity of family gatherings. He had a passion for riding his Harley Motorcycle, which brought him joy and adventure. Jim also enjoyed dancing and attending Cajun festivals, relishing the vibrant flavors of the food. He was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Orangefield, where he found a sense of community and belonging. To his grandchildren, he was affectionately known as “Paw Paw” or “Papa Jimmy,” a title that reflected the deep love and affection he had for them. Jim will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the joyful memories he created with those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Frankie Stewart; daughter, Rebecca Macchione; sister, Jerry Gwen; and brother, Terrill Stewart.
He is survived by his longtime girlfriend of 18 years, Alta Trahan; daughters, Laura Stewart and Stephanie Hope Stewart; grandchildren, James, Zoey, Isabella, and Christian; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
