
James Braxton Desormeaux, Sr., 56, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2025, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.
A memorial service is to be announced at a later date at Faith Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Port Arthur, Texas.
Born in Houston, Texas, on March 1, 1969, he was the son of Leo “Bud” Thomas Desormeaux, Jr. and Ethel Jo Glawson Desormeaux. For 17 years, James dedicated his professional life as a Sales Training Supervisor at Conn’s, where he traveled the country sharing his expertise and passion for sales. His commitment to his work and his ability to mentor others made a lasting impact on his colleagues and friends. Beyond his career, James was a man of many talents and interests. Known for his intelligence, he possessed a remarkable ability to connect with people and was often described as very likeable. A good cook and an avid fisherman, James found tranquility and happiness by the water, where he cherished his time spent outdoors.
He is survived by his loving family, including his parents, Leo “Bud” Thomas Desormeaux Jr. and Ethel Jo Desormeaux; his son, James Braxton Desormeaux Jr.; his sister, Cynthia Annette Clack; and his brother, Timothy Eugene Desormeaux.
James was also the cherished brother of the late Leo Thomas Desormeaux III.
Cremation will be held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
