The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a crash on Farm-to-Market Road 105, near the 456-mile marker, that occurred today, September 3, 2023.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3:05 p.m., a 2016 Volkswagen Pasaat was traveling west, while a 2005 GMC pickup was traveling east. It is reported that the driver of the Volkswagen traveled on the wrong side of the road while entering a curve and struck the pickup head-on.
The driver of the Volkswagen, identified as 33-year-old Taffany Stewart of Orange, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment and then to Memorial Hermann in Houston for life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the GMC, identified as 65-year-old Freddy Viator of Bridge City, was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
