Team Granger threw a party for Al Granger Tuesday as he celebrated 50 years in the car business. That included a proclamation for Al Granger Day by West Orange Mayor Randy Branch and a key to the city from Orange Mayor Larry Spears.
Granger went to work for Charles Wickersham at Wickersham Ford before opening his own business. Automart later turned into Granger Chevrolet when Al and his brother, the late Dean Granger, bought the former Harmon Chevrolet.
Since then Granger has opened Granger RV and the Granger Supercenter, and he also has partnered with Bobby Wilkins at Granger CDJR.
Granger is also involved in the community. He also has a seat on the Stark Foundation Board.
It wasn’t all punch and cake, Granger was also slightly roasted by his best friend Scott Hasty.
