A man will serve 20 years in prison for aggravated robbery after his probation was revoked because of him being arrested twice in one weekend for alcohol-related offenses.
In December, 163rd District Judge Dennis Powell revoked the probation and imposed guilt on 27-year-old Keaton Trace Creel. The judge also sentenced Creel to 20 years in state prison.
Asistant District Attorney Krispen Walker said Creel pleaded guilty in March 2015, when he was 22, to two robbery cases. One was a simple robbery and the other was an aggravated robbery. The judge had sentenced him to three years in prison for robbery.
On the aggravated robbery, the judge gave Creel 10 years of deferred adjudication probabtion, a $1,000 fine, plus the requirement to participate in the Substance Abuse Felony Placement Facility program.
Walker said Creel completed the program and then was released on probation for the aggravated robbery.
Walker filed a motion to impose guilt in September after Walker was arrested twice in one weekend. The arrests were violations of his probation.
