On Monday and Tuesday, March 27-28, the District 19-4A Golf tournament was held at Henry Homberg GC in Beaumont. Several Orange County schools participated and advanced to the Region III tournament to be held in Huntsville in April. The Individual boys champion is Will Nass from Lumberton shooting a score of 80 for both days giving him a total of 160 for the tournament. Second place was his teammate Travis Atwood shooting 81, 88 for a total of 169 over the 2 days. The boys Champion team was Lumberton shooting a two day total of 697. Vidor placed second with a total team score of 794. The teams from Lumberton and Vidor advance to the Regional tournament. Individually, Gavin Laffite from LCM as well as Morgan White of Jasper will advance as an individual qualifiers. The girls champion is the team from Bridge City shooting a two day total of 853 and the ladies from Lumberton were second with a total of 870. The individual winner was Ashley Hale from Bridge City shooting 86, 91 for a 177 followed by Reese Watkins of Lumberton 2nd place with a 92, 93 for a total of 185. The girls’ individual qualifiers are Cassie Grizzaffi from LCM and Maddison Johnson from Vidor.
