Alice Katherine Young, 67 of Vidor, Texas was called home to our Lord on January 10th, 2024. A memorial gathering honoring Alice will be held at Dorman Funeral Home on Friday, January 19, 20204, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
Alice was born on September 27, 1956 to Julia Margaret Austin and William Desmond O’Rourke in Washington, DC. She worked as dietary manager for over 30 years. Alice loved showing horses, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed playing poker and bingo. She deeply loved those around her, especially her children and grandchildren.
Alice is preceded in death by her loving Husband, Terry William Young Sr.; father, William Desmond Young; brother, Michael Desmond Young; niece, Julia “Julie” Peterson and granddaughter Nikki Michelle Young.
Alice is survived by her sons, Christopher “Tony” Young and wife Amy, Shaun Young and wife Rhonda, Terry Young Jr and wife Cassie; grandchildren, Alex Young and wife Mallory, Michael Peters, Juliana Hollyfield and husband Bryce, Taryn Rich and husband Trevor, Aiden, Drew, Cameron, Faygen, Aurabella, Terry III, Christian, and Tyler Young; great granddaughter, Lovelyn Rich; mother, Julia O’Rourke; sisters, Susan, Sharon, Cecilia, numerous nieces and nephews, and longtime companion Virgil Terry Scott.
Arrangements were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.
