Marvin Larry Tinsley, 77, of Mauriceville, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at his residence. A native of Groves, Larry grew up in Vidor and spent many years as a longtime resident of Mauriceville, where he built a life surrounded by family, friends, and the community he loved.
Larry was a founding member of Mauriceville Church of Christ, a place that held a special meaning in his life. He retired as a Process Operator from Gulf Oil Refinery after many years of dedicated service. Outside of work, Larry enjoyed the outdoors and loved deer and squirrel hunting. He also had a unique passion for raising exotic animals of all sorts, a hobby that reflected his love for animals and his enjoyment of the unusual and unexpected. Larry lived life in his own way, finding happiness in the things he loved and the people closest to him.
Above all, Larry treasured his family. He shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary, building a lifetime of memories together. His love for his children and grandchildren was an important part of his life, and the memories they shared will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Tinsley of Vidor; sons, Stephen Tinsley of Mauriceville, Lance Tinsley and his wife, Katy, of Orange, and Ryan Tinsley and his wife, Megan, of Orange; sisters, Reba Norsworthy of Mauriceville, Annette Richard of Nederland, and Beth Chesser of Denton; and seven grandchildren, Caylee, Lauren, Brook, Dacius, Laiten, Witten, and Adelyn.
Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His life, the memories he created, and the love he shared with his family will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
