Valerie Patricia Bennett, 78, of Orange, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026. She was born on December 6, 1947, in Call, TX, to Raymond Farmer and Ruth Turner.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kimberly Kay Pirtle and Lisa Lynn Gilbert and husband, Trey; beloved cats, Smoky and Buster; 5 brothers; 7 sisters; grandchildren, Alisha Eastwood and husband, John, Eric Pirtle and wife, Felisha, Kristan Herin and husband, Jesse, Carlie Evans and fiancé, Richard Rojas, Cory McGee and wife, Jennifer, Brittany Cooper, Stephanie Cooper, Tiffany Cooper, Riley Nation, Ryan Nation, Emma Bishop, Bella McClain, and Lilli McClain; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family, friends and loved ones.
Preceding Valerie in death is her husband, Durwood Bennett; father, Raymond Farmer; mother and step-father, Ruth Turner Marshall and Alwin Marshall; sons, Bubba Dale Cooper and Kevin Bryant Nation; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home, 766 S Main St. Lumberton, TX 77657. Valerie’s life honoring funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery in Call, TX.
